What SailStar is
SailStar helps a crew organise a boat trip: costs, the kitty, the deposit, the crew list, lists, the briefing, the route and the logbook. The legal notice says who runs it.
By using SailStar you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use it.
Not for navigation or safety
SailStar is a record, not a navigation or safety tool. Never rely on its route, map, position or logbook to navigate, and never in place of the boat's charts, instruments, weather forecasts or the skipper's judgement.
The skipper stays responsible for the boat, the crew and their safety.
Your account and your trips
Keep your sign-in to yourself. You're responsible for what you add to a trip, including the details of people you add by name.
Add other people's details only with their agreement. Don't use SailStar for anything unlawful.
Money between crew
SailStar works out who owes what from what you enter. It doesn't move money between people. Payments between crew happen outside SailStar, through the services you choose.
Check the amounts before you pay. Exchange rates come from public sources and may differ from your bank's.
Paid plans
Paddle.com sells the Trip Pass and Skipper Season as the merchant of record. Paddle takes the payment, handles VAT and sends the receipt. Its own terms apply to the purchase.
A Trip Pass gives the skipper tools to one trip, for everyone on it. Skipper Season gives them to every trip for a year and renews each year until you cancel. Cancelling stops the next renewal, and the season runs to its end date.
Prices include VAT. The refund policy explains how to get your money back.
Availability
SailStar is built to keep working offline, but it can't promise to be free of errors or always available. Export anything you can't afford to lose.
Features may change. A paid trip keeps the tools it had.
Ending
You can delete your account at any time from Profile. SailStar may close an account that breaks these terms, after telling you why.
Liability
As far as the law allows, SailStar's liability is limited to what you paid in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that the law doesn't allow to be limited, or your rights as a consumer.
Law and changes
Dutch law applies. If you're a consumer, the mandatory law of the country you live in also protects you.
If these terms change in a way that matters, you'll be told in the app before the change applies.
